Another one punch assault

A SINGLE punch has left an 18-year-old man facing a charge of grievous bodily harm in the District Court.

Steven Gregory Morton was committed to stand trial over the alleged assault of Jesse Tyler Jones.

Police allege Morton punched Mr Jones at a Maryborough shopping centre carpark on February 24 last year.

Morton appeared in the Maryborough Magistrates Court for committal proceedings, represented by defence lawyer Travis George.

A plea was not entered to the charge of grievous bodily harm.

Prosecutor Senior Constable Steve Lord tendered four witness statements as part of the prosecution’s case against Morton.

Magistrate Neil Lavaring released Morton on bail until his District Court trial date.
