Adelaide drama still lingering for Roar coach

FOOTBALL: The spectre of last weekend's defeat to Adelaide United and all that followed is still haunting Brisbane Roar coach John Aloisi as he tries to focus on Saturday night's important A-League clash with the Melbourne Victory at Suncorp Stadium.

The Roar has a chance to move above Melbourne City into third spot on the ladder with a win but after all the incidents and subsequent charges following the late drama last Sunday at Coopers Stadium, Aloisi was still looking back instead of forward.

Michael Theo received a two-game ban for elbowing Dylan McGowan, which led to a penalty and Adelaide's subsequent 2-1 success.

Aloisi's brother Ross was handed a four-game suspension after he was involved in an incident with a member of Adelaide's coaching staff in the tunnel following the match.

The Roar coach tried to move things forward at his press conference on Friday.

"So I don't get asked any more questions about last week, just to begin with Michael Theo got two games, everyone knows, because we couldn't downgrade what they charged him with, we aren't going to appeal," Alosi said.

"We all know that Ross was banned for four games, and we've got seven days to appeal.

"The club is fully behind Ross and I won't comment on the abusive language directed in our direction, during the game or after the game, so we'll move on from that.

"There are a lot of allegations that he punched, which has been proven that he didn't, and then we'll see if we're going to appeal the four-game suspension and that's it."
