Affordable units project on target for October finish

CONSTRUCTION of a $3.8 million affordable housing project at Granville is running to schedule despite the wet weather.

PresCare Groundwater Lodge care services manager Stephen Leggett said the 24 two-bedroom units were on track for completion by the end of October.

Right next door to Groundwater Lodge Retirement Village, the units will cater for people 65 years and older.

"The majority of the civil work is complete," Mr Leggett said.

"With stormwater drains in place and all the bulk earthworks done, work has started on the internal plumbing rough ins."

He said the rental units were ideal for a regional area such as Maryborough.
