AFP to determine if DJs are responsible for nurse's death

CRIMINAL charges could still be laid against the Australian radio DJs responsible for the royal prank call that led to the death of British nurse Jacintha Saldanha.

Following an inquest into Ms Saldahna's death earlier this year, British authorities did not pursue charges against 2DayFM or its DJs Mel Grieg and Michael Christian, who were both referred to in one of the nurse's suicide notes.

In a statement, Scotland Yard confirmed the file had been handed to the Australian Federal Police and NSW Police to determine if offences were committed under Australian law.

The file was sent to Australia on July 9, the same day 2DayFM confirmed Greig had launched legal action against the station for allegedly not providing a "safe working environment".
