Alice Cooper announces Aussie tour 40 years after first trip Down Under

ALICE Cooper will tour Australia in October to mark the 40th anniversary of his first tour Down Under.

Cooper will be joined on the October tour by special guest Ace Frehley, the former Kiss guitarist.

This will be Cooper's 13th Australian tour - he will play Perth Arena on October 17, Thebarton Theatre in Adelaide on October 19, Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne on October 20, Hordern Pavilion in Sydney on October 21, AIS Arena in Canberra on October 23, Newcastle Entertainment Centre on October 24 and Brisbane Convention Centre on October 25.

Tickets go on sale April 28.

The pioneering shock rocker's first visit was in March 1977, around the same time ABBA toured Australia, and was last here as part of Motley Crue's farewell tour in 2015, with the 69-year-old blowing the rock band off the stage.

As well as regular touring, Cooper has a syndicated radio show Nights With Alice Cooper showcasing some of his favourite musicians.

Cooper is working on his 27th album, again using longtime producer Bob Ezrin.

His hits include School's Out, Poison, Department Of Youth, Feed My Frankenstein, No More Mr Nice Guy, Welcome To My Nightmare and Only Women Bleed - the last of which has been covered by John Farnham and Tina Arena.
