FIFO workers are in expert hands

FORMER Tourism Fraser Coast marketing manager Danielle Andreuzzi has been officially appointed as the new FIFO coordinator for Wide Bay and Burnett.

The role is part of a new campaign launched by Regional Development Australia Wide Bay and Burnett last month to bring fly-in fly-out resource workers to the Fraser Coast.

Mrs Andreuzzi will work with resource employers in the Bowen, Surat and Galilee Basin areas as well as Gladstone.

Her role will help connect job seekers with training pathways into the resource industry.

"We are excited to have someone of Danielle's skills and regional knowledge," RDA Wide Bay Burnett executive officer Paul Massingham said.

"This will assist greatly in our ability to raise our profile as a key point of labour hire to the resource sector."

Mr Massingham said Mrs Andreuzzi would also work to establish direct flights and aviation relationships to resource areas.

He said the direct flights would help to attract workers and their families to relocate to the Wide Bay and Burnett region.

The FIFO coordinator role is part of a government-funded program to link job seekers with the resource industry.
