All smooth sailing since Elise’s arrival

CALM and content, Rachel Taylor and Robert Aitchison know they couldn’t ask for a better baby.

The couple, from Torquay, welcomed their second child, Elise Angela, on January 13, a sister for Connor, 7.

“She’s amazing,” Rachel said.

Elise’s relaxed nature is at odds with her dramatic arrival into the world. Rachel was two weeks overdue with Elise.

She endured 24 hours of labour and then had to have an emergency caesarean – but since then it has been all smooth sailing and the little family has been enjoying time together and with family and friends.

Connor is thrilled to be a big brother. Even though he was hoping for a brother, his mum reckons he doesn’t mind having a little sister.

“He absolutely adores her.

“He always wants to hold her.”

Rachel’s sister, Angela, died in a car accident three-and-a-half years ago and Elise’s middle name is a way of keeping her memory alive.

Rachel’s mum came up with the name Elise Angela on the third anniversary of her daughter’s passing.
