Amazing tattoos to be judged at Aussie

HUNDREDS of tattooed bodies are expected to be judged to find the best ink in the Wide Bay.

The Wide Bay Tattoo Show will be held on Saturday and is hosted by Maryborough's Under The Gun Tattooing and Body Piercing.

Tattoo shop owner Heather Byers said the event had attracted more than 400 people who were interested or entering the event.

"This is the first show for Maryborough - it's a good charitable event,” she said.

"It is quite exciting and will be a great family day out.

"We have some of our own staff entering into the show and judges are coming from everywhere but the Wide Bay - which makes it very fair.”

The show will be held at the Aussie Hotel, corner Alice and Adelaide Sts, Maryborough from 11am on Saturday, September 3.

Registration will be from 11am to 1pm with the show starting at 1.30pm.

Categories include most realistic tattoo, best cover up, most unusual, best colour, best small arm, best small leg, best large arm, best large leg, best neck/ head, and best portrait.

There are 16 categories.

The same tattoo may be entered into no more than two categories.

There is a $10 entry fee which includes registration.

There will be live music from Kamajele and the hotel will offer full bar facilities, meals and raffles.

All proceeds will go to M.A.C.E (Motorcyclists Advocating Child Empowerment) and S.O.B.S (Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide).
