Ancient art of ikebana to go on show at M'boro RSL

THE Ikebana International Bundaberg Chapter will put the ancient and disciplined art of ikebana on show at Maryborough RSL on Tuesday.

Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement, can be traced back to the sixth century and comes in many styles.

Maryborough ikebana student Wendy said the chapter had been exhibiting for more than 30 years.

"All the work on display will be from local flower arrangers," she said.

The exhibition will be held in the Heritage Room, Maryborough RSL, 165-173 Lennox St, on Tuesday from 11am-2pm.

Admission is $5 and there will be lucky door prizes and raffles.
