Angler says fish stocks have been dropping despite closures
RAINBOW Beach fisherman Gordon Eckles has come up with a radical plan to improve tailor stocks on Fraser Island - relax the fishing closures.
Mr Eckles has taken his plan to state politicians to try to get them to temporarily relax closures to see if the plan would work.
He would like to see September reopened for tailor fishing.
Mr Eckles has been a fisherman on the island for more than 40 years and says fish stocks have been decreasing despite the closures.
