Another ‘trendy little shop’

MICHELLE Radley has been watching “trendy little shops” pop up in Maryborough’s CBD since she moved to the region 18 months ago.

This week the Gold Coast artist was pleased to see the opening of yet another trendy little shop – but this time her own.

Featuring her own artwork, hand embellished prints and coffee and cake, Ms Radley officially opened Michelle Radley Art Gallery on Friday night.

More than 60 people gathered at the Adelaide Street gallery to celebrate.

“It was fantastic.

“I got lots of positive feedback about my artwork and the shop – I’ve even sold one artwork already,” Ms Radley said.

Her first day of trade went smoothly yesterday with, again, plenty of interest in her work.

“I’ve been painting for 10 years and my work is a combination of different mediums with an emphasis on composition and decorative design.

“My hand embellished prints start at $50 so I think they’re going to be quite popular over Christmas.

“I also do a lot of commission work privately.”

Ms Radley said she could see the potential in Maryborough to become an “arty place”.

The gallery is open from 9am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 7pm on Friday.
