Aquavue boss supports Enzo’s rooftop expansion plan

AQUAVUE owner Larry Burch has ruled out following the lead of Enzo's on the Beach and asking for rooftop expansion any time soon.

Aquavue and Enzo's are the only cafes on the water side of Hervey Bay's Esplanade.

With Enzo's applying to expand into a two-storey building, questions were raised whether Aquavue would follow.

The Aquavue cafe building is already two storeys high, but has only one floor.

Despite the possibility of Enzo's on the Beach being granted permission to expand, Mr Burch said he would not build upwards.

Mr Burch was asked whether he supported an expansion on Enzo's cafe.

"As a Hervey Bay resident yes, most certainly," he said.

An application to expand Enzo's is before the Fraser Coast Regional Council.

Last week Mayor Gerard O'Connell told the Chronicle an independent town planner would assess the Enzo's application.
