Are you paying your tradie too much?

ARE you paying above or below the average price for a tradesperson to do work around your home or business?

ServiceSeeking.com.au has released the average hourly rate for various trade jobs, from a survey of 25,000 people.

Looking at labour costs nationally, house painters charged the least at $39.92 per hour while plumbers slugged customers the most at $76.73 per hour.

The results showed Queenslanders were paying more per hour for a tradesperson than those in Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales.

The average hourly rate for a tradesperson in the Sunshine State was $61.20 in 2014 which was more expensive than the average $54.96 charged in Victoria, which enjoys the lowest rate in Australia, but below the $64.69 charged on average in the ACT which has the highest rate.
