Armed robber used knife at Riverview supermarket

IPSWICH police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Monday afternoon in Riverview.

It is understood  a man entered a supermarket on Mitchell Street about 4.50pm and approached the counter.

He produced a knife and made demanded from the male attendant for money.

The man complied and the offender fled the scene on foot with a sum of cash

The attendant was not physically injured as a result of the incident.

Police are seeking a man who is described as being Caucasian in appearance, around 175cms tall with a solid build.

He was last seen wearing a purple t-shirt, dark shorts, a black hat and was wearing white sunglasses with black lenses.

Police are appealing to anyone who may be able to assist with their enquiries to contact them.
