Artwork in sand awes onlookers at Torquay beach

BASKING in the warm sun of a Hervey Bay beach last week was an array of sea life and apex predators.

A crocodile, turtle and two dolphins were carved from sand on the popular Torquay Beach near the caravan park.

The works of art were by Samara and Josian Chilcott from Tasmania.

Their family was on holidays on the Fraser Coast and stayed at the Torquay Caravan Park.

They created a new attraction with the marvellous and detailed sand sculptures.

On Thursday afternoon a large crowd at the beach were in awe of the children's creations.
