Thurston opens up on his hard time

JOHNATHAN Thurston spent a night in jail doing push-ups on a cold concrete floor. That is just one revelation in Thurston's upcoming autobiography JT: The Autobiography.

Scheduled for release on October 15, the book, co-written by The Sunday Telegraph's sports reporter James Phelps, is a warts-and-all account of Thurston's incredible rise from an NRL reject to a four-time Daly M Medal winner.

Thurston opens up about the night he spent in Brisbane watchhouse when he was arrested for being a public "nuisance'' in 2010.

"No one came,'' Thurston writes. "I was soon freezing. I didn't have a jumper and the cell was not heated. There wasn't a blanket or anything. I started doing push-ups. Ha! That would have been some sight."

The book can be pre-ordered at Booktopia.com.au.

JT will also talk about his life on a national speaking tour from October 18. For more details go to majoreventscompany.com.

And with just two games left in the future Immortal's career, News Corp Australia is celebrating the great man's career.

Harper Collins will publish JT: The Autobiography next month, while fans have a chance to send him a personal message, show their support on social media and nominate themselves as his biggest fan.
