Man with knife tried to rob Torquay's Night Owl on Saturday

UPDATE: A man armed with a knife attempted to rob the Night Owl convenience store in Torquay about 7.10pm on Saturday.

The latest information corrects an initial report that the robbery happened on Friday night in Pialba.

EARLIER: Police are searching for a man following an attempted armed robbery of a store on Boat Harbour Dr at Pialba.

A man armed with a knife entered the rear of the store about 7:30pm and demanded money from an employee.

The employee closed the door to the rear of the store and the man fled.

He is described as about 30-years-old, 185cm tall, Caucasian with a slim build and blonde hair.

He was wearing dark shorts with a white belt, white shoes and possibly a grey shirt.
