Baby’s heart surgery brought forward to September

A BABY who underwent heart surgery at just two days old has had her second round of surgery moved forward to September.

Emily Grace Wilson was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, a condition that means the left ventricle of her heart is extremely under developed.

Her first operation saw a stent placed in her heart, while the second stage, called the bidirectional glen, will prepare the heart for the next round of procedures.

Her parents Kelly, from Hervey Bay, and Paul should be able to take their daughter home from hospital a month earlier than expected.

The second round of surgery for Emily Grace Wilson has been moved forward to September.
