Backpackers' lucky escape after speeding car flips on beach

CLAYTON'S Towing have released footage detailing a hair-raising car crash on a Coast beach.

A group of German backpackers were racing along the sand at Noosa North Shore on Sunday before disaster struck - but it isn't hard to see where they went wrong.

Racing along the water's edge, the four-wheel-drive veers slightly into the water where the soft sand waited below; a danger to fast-moving vehicles.

The car instantly spun out of control as solid ground gave way under the wheel, rolling, and ejecting the camera.

The flipped car can be seen resting on its side in the seconds after the horrific rollover.

No one was injured in the crash.

Do you think travellers should have to do a crash-course in Aussie road rules before driving?
