Basketballers shoot for top

BASKETBALLERS will have the chance to slam dunk the hopes of their premiership-winning rivals in Maryborough this week.

It’s semi-final time in the Maryborough Basketball Association senior competition.

Eagles and Kangaroos go head-to-head in the women’s B1 division tonight.

Eagles are the number one team but should Kangaroos field a full contingent of players the result could go either way as both teams play a very tight game. Looking for another game in the preliminary final will be between Boomers and Pumas.

The women’s B2 play-off for third and fourth place will be between Bulls and Wildcats.

Tomorrow night is men’s night.

Bombers and Total Package will clash at 6pm with Bouncers and Possibles following at 7pm, with the winner of this game going into the finals for B Grade men.

The top three teams in this division have been very close throughout the season with no team certain that they will be playing in a grand final.

The big games of the night will be the A grade men’s showdown between the young Kangaroos team and Batos Panthers.

In the second semi-final Misfits will take on the very improved R.N.M. team.

Thursday night is the minor grade women.

All Stars from Hervey Bay will take on Hot Shots while Violet Phlebs will meet Zodiacs.

Swish and Roos will challenge each other in the women’s C grade preliminary final with the winner playing the M&Ds in the final.
