Bay cricketers to play junior state championships

CRICKET: Meet the Hervey Bay juniors about to take on the best in Queensland.

Queensland Junior Carnivals will be held across the state next week, with competitions in Rockhampton, Southport, Brisbane and Mackay.

Four youngsters - Brayden Lethborg, Cruz Baker, Matthew Geldard and Tom Geldard - will play for Wide Bay at the QJC under-12 State Championships in Rockhampton.

Finn Ignatenko will compete in the under-13 male state championships at Southport.

Jack Geldard is Hervey Bay's sole representative in the under-14s, though Will Robinson was selected as a shadow player in a pre-tournament game. Recent South Queensland Country rep Isaac Kelsey will play in the Wide Bay's team for the under-16 Bulls Youth Cup in Mackay.
