Bay Power out to avenge last year's grand final loss

THE last time Bay Power travelled to Bundaberg it ended in a heartbreaking grand final loss.

Today they hit the Bruce Highway with the goal of vanquishing last year's victor, The Waves, and maintaining their unbeaten start to the season.

Power coach Michael Gay said he would take a mostly similar squad to the one that beat Hervey Bay Bombers by 10 goals on Anzac Day.

"I think Waves were a bit rusty but they'll be better for the run," Gay said.

"They're running game was pretty good and they move the ball well."

The Coulthard Oval match starts at 3pm.

Gympie Cats host Pomona at 2pm, while Hervey Bay Bombers host Brothers Bulldogs at 3pm.
