TAYLAH King will have the opportunity of a lifetime when she and her Lions Academy teammates draw the curtain on Brisbane's clash with Collingwood.

King, 16, is one of Queensland's up-and-coming stars, and will have the chance to show off her skill at South Pine Sports Complex on Saturday.

The Hervey Bay teenager, who attends the Simon Black Academy at the Sunshine Coast and has played footy for Gympie Cats and Wide Bay Wildcats, said it was a great opportunity.

She will play directly after fellow Wide Bay talent and now-Brisbane captain Emma Zielke. The Bundaberg midfielder was a priority signing for Queensland's sole AFLW club.

"It's great to see her progress,” King said of Zielke. "I've been watching footy for as long as I can remember, and seeing how much the women have grown and seeing all of the girls there is awesome.”
