Bay to host state conference

HERVEY Bay has won the right to host the State Conference of the Queensland Justices Association on Saturday, October 23, this year.

The conference is a one-dayer and some 200 delegates are expected to arrive from across the state.

The Hervey Bay branch of the association will hold the conference at the Hervey Bay RSL Club.

Speakers will address issues of interest to justices of the peace and provide up-to-date information on the functions and responsibilities of the JP’s role in the community.

A local committee has been formed to organise the conference and members are currently formulating a program for the day.

The justice of the peace signing facility that operates at Pialba Place shopping centre on Wednesdays and Saturdays is again in operation following the Christmas/new year break.

JPs are available to witness and certify documents for members of the public on those days.
