Beth braves the greatest shave

PRESENTLY a silver blonde, grandmother of seven Beth Devlin will shave her locks for the Leukaemia Foundation's major fundraiser.

Beth, who in the past has shaved a few heads for the World's Greatest Shave fundraiser, has decided this was her year.

"I shaved my son Healy's head in 2001, shaved some friends' heads even up to last year, but I'm thinking it is my turn,” she said.

"We have already raised $500 and was hoping to raise a few more dollars and awareness for the cause.

"My husband Terry and I have always been involved in cancer fundraisers.”

This is the 20th anniversary of the fundraiser where funds raised go to support the 35 Australians who will be told today they have blood cancer like leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

You can sponsor Beth via email hexagonbeth@ hotmail.com.au, phone 0412626741, 41216772, in person, at the Commonwealth Bank account: Beth Devlin BSB 064421 account number 10581369, online at leukaemia foundation.org.au, or take their lead and sign up yourself worldsgreatest shave.com.

Beth will have her head shaved at the Woocoo Hall during her craft session with Maryborough Creative Fabrics on Tuesday, March 20 at 10am.

"I am hoping my hair will grow back black and curly,” she laughed.
