Big Brother will be watching you Torbanlea and Howard

TORBANLEA is set to get two CCTV cameras with the help of the Howard and District Progress Association.

The group in June this year delivered a single CCTV to William St in Howard and due to the success are looking to add more surveillance to the region.

Howard and District Progress Association spokeswoman Kate Niblett said the group had investigated adding the cameras after vandalism and security concerns in the region.

"Because of the area police cover it is impossible for them to be everywhere all the time," she said.

The cameras set for Torbanlea are in the planning stages, with the agreed locations set to be at the site of the new skate park as well as at the railway intersection.

Ms Niblett said the CCTV cameras were still being costed but the group did hope to install cameras with wireless technology.

More cameras will be considered if the Torbanlea CCTV is successful.
