Big crowd and perfect weather for Toogoom Easter Fair
IT was bigger and better than ever at the Toogoom Easter Fair yesterday, with an estimated 300 people packing into the community hall for the annual event.
Toogom Community Association president Des Bishop said the event had about 60 stalls, almost double the number of previous years.
"It was everything,' he said
"We even had one woman selling poppies."
He said people travelled from north and south of the Wide Bay region from places such as Imbil and Morganville for the event.
The day included a bonnet parade with a prize for best hat and children's entertainment.
While it was impossible for him to pick a highlight of the day, Mr Bishop said the sunshine had come out to celebrate.
"We couldn't have asked for a better day, weather wise," Mr Bishop said.
Another fair will be held at the Toogoom Community Hall for Christmas.
