Big day for Supermoto riders

FRASER Coast Supermoto Riders will run its final small wheels event of 2017.

An 18-month community- led project driven by track operations co-ordinator, rider, and motorsports enthusiast Hayden Baldwin saw the former Tinana kart track approved by Queensland Raceways CEO John Tetley in May.

The group has since held several small wheels events since, and on Saturday will run its last meet of the year.

"It's really rewarding seeing the regulars at the track,” Baldwin said.

"Now the dust has started to settle on the first few events we're starting to get into a bit of rhythm.

"We're getting a lot more interest now.”

Baldwin said he knew of several riders who had already begun to work on their bikes for next year.

Saturday's event will include supermoto bikes, scooters, karts and several junior riders.

Gates open at 8am, with riding to run from 10am to 3pm.
