Bin thrown at staff

A MAN allegedly told a McDonald's employee he was “taking too long” before climbing on to the counter and assaulting him.

The 28-year-old Booral man has been charged with assaulting a 23-year-old employee at Hervey Bay's McDonald's on Saturday night. Police say the man placed an order at the restaurant about 11.30pm, before allegedly telling the worker: “You're taking too long; let me give you a hand.”

The man is accused of climbing on to the counter and trying to access the register buttons before pushing the employee. He was restrained by other staff members but later returned to the store armed with a large bin that he tried to throw at the workers. He will front court on November 5.
