Bird cuts power to more than 1000 Maryborough homes

MORE than 1000 Granville homes were left without power for more than five hours on Thursday night after a bird hit the power line.

The cables on the corner of Dundas St and Granville Tce fell just before 4pm on Thursday.

A spokesman for Ergon Energy said power was restored to 32 customer by 5.30pm.

But it took until 9.30pm for the remaining homes to regain power after the damage had been repaired.
