BMX youths seen robbing elderly man in Hervey Bay

POLICE are appealing for public assistance to find two BMX bandits who reportedly robbed an elderly man on a Hervey Bay walkway.

An onlooker who witnessed the theft contacted officers to make police aware of the incident, but neither the victim or attackers are yet known.

"There was an elderly male walking along the footpath and two youths have ridden past him on pushbikes and taken an item from him before he's given chase," the spokesman said.

Police want to talk to the man and the two youths, described as being between 15 and 16 years old, with white BMX bikes.

The incident happened on Torquay Rd at Pialba about 11am on Monday.
