Boat Club members visit coast guard

MEMBERS of the Boat Club Fishing Club and Power Boat Squadron enjoyed morning tea and a guided tour of the Coast Guard Sandy Straits Boonooroo base during a coach tour to Rainbow Beach last Sunday.

Members were impressed with the newly refurbished rescue boat Pride of Maryborough, secondary vessel Jupiter One, the well-equipped radio room and were further impressed to find Coast Guard officers conducting a first aid course.

Flotilla training officer Stuart Platt said the Apply First Aid and CPR courses are available to everybody and can be held at Boonooroo or Maryborough at times to suit you.

Businesses with groups will be catered for with National Recognised Statements of Attainment, a DVD and a comprehensively illustrated Active First Aid Manual issued to each employee who is deemed to be competent.

Contact Coast Guard on 4129 8141 and you will be doing yourself and a voluntary organisation a big favour – a win-win situation.
