Bob's hot to trot to get new date

THE WHEELS are in motion to make up for lost time.

Wide Bay Harness Racing Club president Bob McCrae is doing his best to see to that.

The club is working hard to get a new date for the first trotting meeting at the Maryborough Showgrounds since 1995 following Sunday’s washout.

The scheduled seven-race meeting was called-off on Friday after last week’s rain left the track in no fit state to be used.

McCrae said he spoke to the council yesterday and was trying to set up a meeting with them together with Damian Raedler, the racing operations manager for Harness Racing Queensland.

“At this stage we are planning to have that meeting before the end of the month and as soon as we have a date for the race meeting we’ll let everyone know.”
