2PM: Police are especially keen to speak with a truck driver who was travelling on the Pacific Hwy on Sunday night.

The driver purportedly had to swerve to miss a man on the highway between Park Beach Rd/Bray St and Wentworth Ave intersections between 10.30pm and midnight.

The deceased man wore blue jeans and work boots, and may have been seen carrying a white t-shirt.

He was Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander in appearance.

Police were searching for a missing local man, last seen in the area about 11pm on Sunday night after a party.

He was reported missing on Monday by his partner, who was concerned for his welfare.

Inquiries led police to begin a search of parkland at Wentworth Ave at 3pm on Wednesday and the body was found a short time later.
