Bondi inspires Rolph's first win

GALLERY 5 was abuzz with artists and art lovers yesterday with an award presentation for the latest member exhibition.

About 40 people visited the Hervey Bay Art Society Urangan gallery acknowledging the pieces on display as part of the Australian Lifestyle Exhibition.

First prize went to Rolf Sieber for Sunday Highride and second prize to Haydee Drewitt for Doug at the Gympie Muster.

A highly commended was awarded to Min Vary for Day at the Beach while Jackie Gibson also received a highly commended for Skateboarding.

A barbecue and drinks were enjoyed after the awards.

Australian Lifestyle Exhibition is the first exhibition for the gallery for 2010 and includes pieces based on Aussie life such as leisure activities on the beach.
