Boy injured in hit-and-run

A TEENAGE boy has been taken to hospital after being struck by a car in Hervey Bay.

Police said the car, which struck the boy about 9.15am near the Hervey Bay High School, had failed to stop.

The 14-year-old, who is believed to be a student at the school, was transported to hospital with injuries to his right foot.

A police spokesman said the car involved may have been purple, but police had no further details.
