UPDATE: Hazard removed from Bruce Highway near Tiaro

UPDATE, 3.15PM: A road hazard caused by broken glass on the Bruce Highway has been cleaned up.

"We are aware of reports of glass on the Bruce Highway near the Charnocks Road intersection at Tiaro," a spokeswoman from the Department of Transport and Main Roads said.

"We understand glass bottles fell from a truck

"Our maintenance contractor has removed the glass."

EARLIER: Motorists are being urged to drive with caution due to a traffic hazard on the Bruce Highway near Tiaro.

An alert from the Department of Transport and Main Roads said there was glass on the road from a spill on the highway.

The circumstances of the incident were not immediately known.

Both lanes were affected, but no delays are expected.
