MANHUNT CONTINUES: Dog squad searching for alleged taxi thief
MORE details have emerged about the theft of a Brisbane taxi at the centre of a manhunt near Maryborough.
A police spokesman confirmed the owner of the 2015 yellow and black Toyota Prius taxi noticed the car was missing from where it was parked outside his Clayfield home about 7am today.
The taxi was later located travelling north from Tiaro towards Maryborough using the GPS device inside the vehicle.
The suspected taxi thief is still on the run after he disappeared into bushland on foot when he crashed the car on Three Mile Rd in Tinana.
The police dog squad and officers continue to patrol the area.

The Clayfield taxi was stolen overnight and the alleged thief lost control of the vehicle at the intersection of Three Mile Rd and the Bruce Hwy while attempting to evade police about 9.30am today.
The man fled the scene of the crash on foot into bushland and the police dog squad is currently on scene.
