Broncos enforcer says Milford will spark side

ADAM Blair says the return of Anthony Milford can fire up the Brisbane Broncos for Friday's clash with South Sydney.

The Broncos need to snap a two-game losing streak and New Zealand international forward Blair says Milford's first taste of State of Origin football has given him a boost he's hoping will rub off on the rest of the team against the Rabbitohs.

"It's good Milly got to play Origin. After being around the best players in the game, his energy around the club and on the field has been great," Blair said.

"You surround yourself with quality players and pick up aspects of your game that you think you have to work on (at Origin camp).

"Anthony's job is to run the football and be creative - I think he will take a fair bit of pressure off a lot of players (on Friday night)."

Milford missed last week's 18-16 loss to the Roosters after being concussed in Origin game one.

He is one of a number of players returning to the side this week but Brisbane hooker Andrew McCullough admitted veteran half Benji Marshall's form last week would ensure some headaches for coach Wayne Bennett.

"I am glad I am not picking the team," McCullough said.

"It's a good headache to have during this tough State of Origin period.

"It keeps everyone on their toes and keeps them performing."

Brisbane rested Origin stars Darius Boyd, Sam Thaiday, Josh McGuire and Corey Oates from training on Tuesday but they are not in doubt for the South Sydney clash.
