Broncos forced into reshuffle after Boyd sidelined

BRISBANE coach Wayne Bennett has replaced injured skipper Darius Boyd with Kiwi Test utility Jordan Kahu at fullback for Saturday night's NRL clash with the Raiders in Canberra.

Boyd will miss six weeks with a broken thumb - including the Origin decider on July 12.

Bennett, who had hoped Boyd would back up from Origin II, tested Kahu at fullback on Friday.

Benji Marshall will remain in the halves with Kodi Nikorima, while axed halfback Ben Hunt will be on the bench.

David Mead has been recalled to play on the right wing.

The Broncos are clinging to fourth spot but face a desperate Raiders side that is struggling in 10th and needs victory to stay in touch with the top eight.

Brisbane's other Origin stars Matt Gillett and Josh McGuire are expected to back up for the showdown at GIO Stadium.
