Broncos player supports charity

AS GOLF players they reckon they make pretty good rugby league players but that didn’t stop a few faces from the Brisbane Broncos from stopping by Hervey Bay Golf Club for Movember charity golf day, helping to raise money and awareness for depression and prostate cancer.

Fletcher Holmes, who played 15 games for the Brisbane Broncos last year, reckons it would have taken him too long to grow a moustache – and taking part in the charity golf day was definitely for a good cause.

Josh McGuire, who plays for the North Devils in the Queensland Cup, had a moustache until his mum saw him and told him he looked “disgraceful”.

Both men said they were loving league – “It’s the best game in the world,” Holmes said.

The teams teed off about 1pm yesterday and the warm weather ensured a day of fun was had by all involved.
