Bullets captain Tyson praises teammates for title

WINNING CAPTAIN: Beth Tyson didn't believe her Bullets had the Hervey Bay Netball grand final in the bag despite having a six-point advantage late in the dying moments of the decider.

When the full-time whistle went, Tyson said, when asked when she believed they had it: "Breakaways are a phenomenal netball team, right from their shooters through to defenders, and it took all game to get up - even though the score didn't say that.

"It was a really tight game and I didn't know we won it until someone said we had."

Tyson said her side's focus on basics was the difference.

"I'm elated, I'm super proud of all of my girls. Everybody did their job so that made everyone else's jobs much easier," Tyson said. "We backed each other up, our shooters really stepped up, I'm proud of each and every one of them."

"Playing basic netball. You get the ball, and then you pass it - you can't do anything if you don't get the ball. Get to the ball, make sure we have possession, then drive. Simple netball got it in the end."
