Bullets import reveals how pup went undetected

BRISBANE Bullets US recruit Lamar Patterson has revealed how his French bulldog went undetected for so long after the basketball star landed himself in the doghouse by bringing the dog to Australia in his hand luggage.

The Bullets import revealed the only reason the biosecurity breach was flagged was because the usually quiet Kobe started barking at Brisbane airport.

Patterson said Kobe sat at his feet on the flight from LA.

He expressed surprise that " nobody seen him".

"I was having a hard sleep because he was at my feet all the time," he said today at a training session.

"He's a quiet dog, he doesn't bark he's settled, he slept most of the flight.

"Once I got to Australia the only reason why people found out about him is he started barking at the search dog. But it was on my ticket I was travelling with an animal.

"So I guess it was just a misunderstanding."

Patterson said he wasn't trying to "scam" his way into Australia.

"I wasn't aware of the policies, the rules here the regulations so once I got here I got welcomed with a little surprise," he said.

"But everything is good, it was a misunderstanding. Kobe is on his way back to America now.

"But if this is the biggest news, Australia's an amazing place to live at," he said

He said Kobe was like a "child of mine" which is why he brought him.

However he had no plans to bring the pooch back to Queensland lawfully.
