Bundaberg's U20s squad suited to attacking style
BUNDABERG Rugby League's under-20s team will have no trouble in attack when they travel to Yeppoon next month.
The 20-man squad for the 47th Battalion Carnival is a mix of six clubs, though Wallaroos and Past Brothers contribute more than half the playing squad.
Among those picked are the top two pointscorers in the A-grade competition.
Hervey Bay Seagulls fullback Logona Vetemotu (1 try, 33 goals) and Wallaroos hooker Jack Horder (3 tries, 24 goals) are leading the pack, scoring 130 points.
Past Brothers trio Layton Chambers, Tyrrell Howard and Rueben Olive have scored 88 points between them, and provide two more solid goalkicking options in Chambers and Howard.
Isis' sole representative Jayden Alberts is contracted to Intrust Super Cup club Central Capras.
Wallaroos' focus on young players is highlighted through their five representatives. All six have progressed through the club's junior system to the region's top flight.
The 47th Battalion Carnival will be held on July 8-9, the same weekend as the BRL's first Toyota Cup.
