Burns planned for Eurong, Dilli Village and Lake Boomanjin

SMOKE may be seen in and around the Eurong, Dilli Village and Lake Boomanjin areas between August 2 and 31 as the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service conducts planned burns.

QPWS said the aim of the burns was to reduce the volume of forest fuels and to create a mosaic pattern of burnt and unburnt areas within the park.

"This will help reduce the intensity of any subsequent wildfires and provide favourable conditions for natural forest regeneration," QPWS said.

It's part of the annual hazard reduction/conservation management program for parks and forests.

For more information, phone the Eurong office of QPWS on 4121 1800.
