Burrum carnival to be a cracker

ALL EYES will be on the sky at Burrum Heads tonight when the Burrum District Community Centre presents its rip-roaring fireworks display as part of its annual Christmas carnival.

Organiser Kyleigh Shaw says about 1500 people are expected to fill the grounds at the Burrum District Community Centre from 4pm for the free family fun day, which includes amusement rides, a magician, market stalls focused on gifts, crafts and home-made goodies, and a visit from the jolly man in red.

A line-up of entertainment has been organised for the event and features the Fraser Coast Choruses and local performer Don Gibson.

“It’s a great afternoon for families and their children and we have lots of free entertainment,” Ms Shaw said.

The fireworks display, sponsored by local businesses and the Fraser Coast Regional Council, will light up the sky above the Steley Street grounds from 8.45pm.

Cold drinks and hot food will be provided at the canteen.
