Bush 'n' Bay Cafe robbed

TIARO'S Bush ‘n' Bay Cafe was closed yesterday after being targeted by thieves on Monday night.

Acting Sergeant Jon Roche is appealing to the public to help catch the culprit, who took off with several hundred dollars in cash and the business safe.

Police have not ruled out a link to robberies at Glenwood and Gunalda earlier in the year.

“The activity is possibly linked but we can't confirm that,” Act Sgt Roche said.

“We'd appeal to anyone who knows anything to contact their local police station or Crime Stoppers if they want to remain anonymous.”

The cafe was broken into some time between 4pm Monday and 8am yesterday.

The offenders entered a yard through an unlocked gate and jemmied open the back door.

“They've gone straight to the shop area and removed $500 from the till, which had been kept on the premises as the float.

“The rear of the building was being renovated and there was a safe about 60cm x 90cm in a storage room.

“It had green fire-retardant concrete on it and it was quite unique.”

Call Tiaro police on 4129 2555 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The owners of the business did not wish to comment yesterday.
