A BUSHFIRE has blazed for three hours in Torbanlea this afternoon.

About 20 firefighters from various Rural Fire Brigades across the region sped to the fire just after 12pm.

Vaughn Henry, the incident controller, said the bushfire covered about 20 hectares, and it also came within 100m of a house on Old Toogoom Rd.

Mr Henry said backburning operations from the fire crews helped to have the blaze contained and under control by about 3pm.

Mr Henry said there were no indications of what might have started the fire at this stage.
