Fire crews were called to the Elizabeth St blaze about 7pm.

The fire broke out in pallets between the building and a toilet block.

A business owner used a hose to fight the inferno until fire crews arrived.

Torquay Fire Station firefighter Neil Probert said significant damage was done to the toilet block.
