Campaign to help Southern Downs, Granite Belt producers

DESTINATION Southern Downs is passionate about the Southern Downs region, its producers and businesses.

It is running a Shop Local campaign to support Southern Downs and Granite Belt producers.

The visitor information centres in Warwick and Stanthorpe stock both regional and other products for sale, to both tourists and locals.

Examples include local honey, juices, soaps, oils, wooden artefacts, sauces, vinegars - just to name a few.

During the campaign a different product will be shared daily through the Destination Southern Downs Facebook page, starting yesterday until Christmas eve.

Products sold in the visitor information centres have been professionally photographed and graphics created by AgriTourism co-ordinator, Amy Walker, assisted by marketing co-ordinator, Izelle Barnard.

A competition will be run alongside the promotion where fans will be encouraged to like and share selected product images to stand a chance of winning a product.

If you are a local producer and your products are not currently being sold in the visitor information centres, contact co-ordinator, Karan Orr, based in Stanthorpe on 4681 2057.

"We encourage all local businesses to showcase their products in the visitor information centres," Mrs Orr said.

"Even if your business doesn't have a physical product such as jar of jam to sell, perhaps a gift card, a free trial card or voucher may be an option."
